Storyline

Einall, das „New York der Pokémonwelt“, ist eine Region voller Gegensätze. Glanz, Materialismus und ständiger Nervenkitzel bestimmen den Alltag, während der Graben zwischen Generationen und Gesellschaftsschichten immer größer wird. Über allem steht der Sport: Arenakämpfe und Wettbewerbe dienen als Ablenkung von den Schatten der Vergangenheit – und als lukrative Einnahmequelle. Nach dem Ende des großen Pokémon-Krieges vor über sechzig Jahren versucht der Verband nun, den Sport neu zu ordnen: Arenen werden neu besetzt, die Top Vier abgeschafft, Wettbewerbe umstrukturiert. Offiziell im Namen von Fortschritt, in Wahrheit aber, um Touristen und Geld in die Region zu locken. Doch im Verborgenen wächst der Unmut. Untergrundorganisationen breiten sich aus, illegale Kämpfe mit gedopten Pokémon nehmen zu, gefälschte Orden kursieren. Polizei und Ranger stehen unter Druck, gegeneinander statt miteinander zu arbeiten, während Hilfskräfte und Wissenschaftler an den Grenzen ihrer Belastung stehen. So zeigt sich Einall nach außen hin glanzvoll und lebendig – doch unter der Oberfläche bröckelt die Fassade, und die ersten Risse sind bereits sichtbar.
